MARS Residency Mongolia

In September 2024, Maira travelled to Mongolia to be the first international artist-in-residence at Mongolian Artist Residency Studios (MARS), facilitated by Mongolian artist Ganbold Lundaa (aka Gawaa) in association with Arts Council of Mongolia. Beginning in a brief window of autumn and ending in the first falls of snow, Maira spent 5 weeks exploring the rural locale on foot and horseback, meeting Mongolian and international artists, and visiting studios and galleries in Ulaanbaatar.
